A recently discovered manuscript has revealed a heretofore unknown midrash tanhuma of megilat esther. It seems to be of the older yelamdeinu type with the secondary layer of zeh she'amar hakatuv and even some aspects of the later layer of midrash often found in the Rabah or pesikta rabati. I have only had a chance to decipher the very beginning of the manuscript in time for Purim.

What is the minimum requirement to fulfill the obligation of reading the megilah?
מהוא לצאת ידי חובתו בקריאת המגילה?
Rabbi Meir said: If it is read in sections and you dozed off you fulfilled your obligation.
א"ר מאיר קראה סירוגין ומתנמנם יצא.
שנאמר (אסתר ו:א) " בַּלַּיְלָה הַהוּא נָדְדָה שְׁנַת הַמֶּלֶךְ וַיֹּאמֶר לְהָבִיא אֶת סֵפֶר הַזִּכְרֹנוֹת דִּבְרֵי הַיָּמִים וַיִּהְיוּ נִקְרָאִים לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ"
As it is written "On that night the king could not sleep; and he said to bring the chronicles, and they were read before the king."
From here we infer that if you doze off you are considered as if you read in sections
מכאן מתנמנם כקראו לסירוגין
זש"ה (בראשית ב:כא) "וַיַּפֵּל יְדֹוָד אֱלֹקִים תַּרְדֵּמָה עַל הָאָדָם וַיִּישָׁן וַיִּקַּח אַחַת מִצַּלְעֹתָיו וַיִּסְגֹּר בָּשָׂר תַּחְתֶּנָּה"
This is what the scripture states: And God caused a sleep to fall over man and he slept and He took one of the ribs and made meat under it.
אמר רבי אביחי אמר רבי נועם אמר רבי הלל ב"ר צבי כל המתנמנם חייב לערו חוץ מבעלי בשר שממנו לוקחים את הסעודה. דבר אחר שאוכלים צלעות גריל בסעודה.
Said Rabbi Avichai said Rabbi Noam, said Rabbi Hillel the son of Rabbi Tzvi, All who doze off must be woken, except men of corpulence, that it is from such men we take the meal. Another understanding that we eat spare ribs at the feast.
סימן ב
(אסתר א:ח) "וְהַשְּׁתִיָּה כַדָּת אֵין אֹנֵס כִּי כֵן יִסַּד הַמֶּלֶךְ עַל כָּל רַב בֵּיתוֹ לַעֲשׂוֹת כִּרְצוֹן אִישׁ וָאִישׁ "
"And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel; for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure."
זש"ה (ירמיהו נא:לט) " בְּחֻמָּם אָשִׁית אֶת מִשְׁתֵּיהֶם וְהִשְׁכַּרְתִּים לְמַעַן יַעֲלֹזוּ וְיָשְׁנוּ שְׁנַת עוֹלָם וְלֹא יָקִיצוּ נְאֻם יְדֹוָד"
This is what the scripture said: "With their poison I will prepare their feast, and I will make them drunken, that they may be joyous, and sleep an eternal slumber, and not wake, saith the Lord."
וגדול השנה שנאמר (ירמיהו לא:כה) "עַל זֹאת הֱקִיצֹתִי וָאֶרְאֶה וּשְׁנָתִי עָרְבָה לִּי"
And sleep is great as it is written "Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me"
Sarit said, from here they said that one who drinks Glenmorangie of 18 years; fulfilled their obligation to get intoxicated, fulfilled their obligation of sleep, and incurred penalty for drinking regular (unkosher) wine.
אמרה שרית מכאן אמרו השותה גלנמורנג'י של י"ח שנה;לידי חייב לבסיומי יצא, לידי שינה יצא, לידי סתם יינם חייב.
